Spectacular Sports Car racing at Snetterton this Weekend

Tuesday, August 07 2018

MotorSport Vision Racing return to Snetterton (11-12 August) for a late summer weekend of racing on the 300 circuit.

Racing this weekend is the GT Cup, Radical Challenge, F3 Cup, Lotus Cup UK, Toyo Tires Racing Saloons, Toyo Tires Production BMW, and guest series from Track Attack race club.

The action kicks-off on Saturday with the fantastic Radical Challenge Championship. The second step on Radical Sportscars' racing ladder, it is aimed at both seasoned racers and newer drivers looking for a fresh challenge in these rapid, Le Mans-style racers.

The GT Cup Championship is home to a whole host of spectacular GT cars, grouped by performance to promote exciting battles throughout the field. Expect to see McLaren's finest going head-to-head with Ferraris, Aston Martins and much more.

Snetterton is always popular with the Lotus Cup UK & Elise Trophy championships, being located just down the road from the marque's spiritual home. The modern Elise and Exige race cars are perfectly suited to both the tight infield section and the long, sweeping curves of the 300 layout.

The Project 8 Racing Club brings both of their grids to Norfolk this weekend with the varied Toyo Tires Racing Saloons on Saturday and the Toyo Tires Production BMW Championship on Sunday, featuring the venerable BMW E30 3 Series.

Single seater racing this weekend comes in two shapes; firstly the F3 Cup Championship, the UK's only championship exclusively for close-to-contemporary (pre-2017) Formula 3 cars. Snetterton allows the drivers to fully exploit the complex aero of these stunning machines - look out for some seriously quick lap times.

The new-for-2018 Heritage Formula Ford series provides a different single seater challenge on Sunday; with less power and no aerodynamic aids, the onus is on the drivers to perfect their lines and slip-streaming techniques to reach the podium.

Guests this weekend are the drivers of the Track Attack Race Club, with an eclectic grid of Japanese and European performance cars - not to be missed!

Tickets for the MSVR Club Car Championships at Snetterton (11-12 August) are available online for £12 until midday on Wednesday or on the gate from £16 with free entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
