BRSCC Championships Burst into life at Oulton Park this Saturday

Sunday, March 19 2017

Oulton Park will host the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC) this Saturday (25 March) with a superb mix of single-seater, sports and saloon cars set to blow of the cobwebs and start fresh with what promises to be an exciting 2017 for one of the most popular racing clubs in the UK.

Battling on the International circuit for the first time this year will be the Avon Tyres Formula Ford 1600 Northern Championship, the Electrovape.co.uk XR Challenge, BRSCC Alfa Romeo Championship and Toyo Tires Porsche Championship.

With qualifying dominating the Morning's proceedings, the first racing action starts at 12.25 with single-seaters on track. The Avon Tyres Formula Ford 1600 Championship is always lively with a busy grid of low-downforce single-seaters. Running without aerodynamic aids or high-grip slick tyres, these cars are able to follow each other closely, so spectators can expect plenty of thrilling side-by-side moments as the cars charge through the circuit's quicker sections.

The two opening races of the season of the Toyo Tires Porsche Championship take place this weekend, a highly competitive series that features three different classes, with Porsche Boxsters racing against Porsche 924s.

One of Italy's most iconic marques will be represented in the saloon contests by the BRSCC Alfa Romeo Championship. This category will include a wide variety of Alfa Romeos, from the classics to the more recent 147s and 156s. The competition remains very close with six previous champions lining up on the grid and a couple of newcomers added to spice things up further.

Concluding the day's race programme will be bumper to bumper action from the Electrovape.co.uk XR Challenge, a one make Ford Championship with Fiesta XR2s competing alongside Escort XR3is.

The paddock will be open, allowing spectators to get closer to the cars as they are prepared for battle and meet the teams and drivers.

Tickets for the BRSCC Club Car Championships are available online for £10 or on the gate for £15, with free entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here
